Spring-Summer 2023: men’s fashion in the colors of the rainbow

Men’s ready-to-wear designers presented strong collections in London, Milan and Paris this season. A number of strong trends are emerging for Spring/Summer 2023, including the use of bright colors, tie & dye and gradients that give the garments a “dopamine” effect.

AGR

London brand Agr is committed to designing knitwear in bright colors with a nightclub feel. Look four included a tie dyed rainbow sweater shown with shiny tech pants, accessorized by a crossbody bag with an AGR logo.

Amiri

Los Angeles-based designer Mike Amiri presented his collection in Paris. While his past designs are rooted in denim, the Spring/Summer 2023 collection expanded his offering in both fabric and color variety. Look 50 featured a tie & dye cotton knit sweater in blue and green tones, paired with relaxed fit pants with front pleats in a silky fabric.

For spring-summer 2023, Anthony Alvarez presented a collection with a Californian spirit. The look 25 was composed of a green tie & dye sweatshirt decorated with shiny decals matched with white cargo pants in technical fabric.

Dries Van Noten based his spring-summer 2023 collection partly on the Buffalo look of 1980s London with elements of current motocross culture. For look 57, the designer presented a sleeveless zipper top with a pattern in gradient orange and yellow matched with patchwork shorts.

Aurélien Arbet, José Lamali and Jérémie Egry used a kaleidoscope of colors for the finale of their spring-summer 2023 fashion show. Look 34 featured a tie & dye shirt and shorts in a rainbow of colors.

Designer Louis-Gabriel Nouchi created a matching zip-up jacket and baggy pants for Joeone in a mix of purple, green and blue, influenced by the paintings of Chinese artist Wang Ximeng.

The first collection since the death of Virgil Abloh still had the touch of the former artistic director. A collection inspired by the concept of the game. The look 28 combined an orange and white baseball jacket with skate pants in shades of green and orange.

Marcelo Burlon’s 54 look for Spring/Summer 2023 consisted of a long tank top and matching wide-leg pants in a 60s inspired tie & dye.

The designer named her spring/summer 2023 collection “State of Soul”. Look 40 included two pieces in green tie & dye covered in an all-over print.

Going against his usual monochromatic palette, Rick Owens presented a series of brightly colored garments. Look 33 consisted of a hot pink crop top and bright cargo pants.
