With an 80s-inspired vibe, this collection is filled with wide leg jeans, amazing belts, and denim-styled shoes. The combination of denim and leather created a cohesive look that combined vintage vibes with modern silhouettes. From oversized to relaxed fit, there was something for everyone in this collection and it is sure to be a major influence on fashion trends for the coming year.
The Diesel Pre-Fall 2023 fashion show showcased a selection of bold and statement-making denim jeans that truly embodied the spirit of iconic denim. From wide leg styles with distressed accents, to long detailed bell-bottoms, there was one impressive look after the next. A wide selection of washes were used, with varying shades of blue. These included light wash jeans featuring subtle fading, as well as more traditional medium, and dark wash styles. For those looking for something a bit more edgy, there were also distressed styles with rips and frayed hems.
The versatility of Diesel denim lends itself to various styling options allowing for endless possibilities when creating looks from this collection, as consumers can mix and match different pieces to create their own style aesthetic. Overall, these denim jeans from the Diesel Pre-Fall 2023 fashion show set the trends in all things denim – from classic silhouettes to modern updates on old classics. They’re designed for anyone to achieve the kind of look they seek while remaining true to their own personal style.
“My focus for this collection is on real, everyday fashion. It’s all about the garments that will go into our stores, with the cheekiness and the charm that’s totally Diesel. The pieces have their own personality – when you see them, you know they are from our Diesel universe,” says Glenn Martens, creative director of Diesel.
Prepare to elevate your sense of style with It Brand Diesel’s newest offerings. They have a ton of rebellious and revolutionary pieces in their PRE-FALL 2023 collection that are designed to be worn all around the world. Wearability is important, and there is an emphasis on denim, pop, and utility vibes. Details are important, and experimentation is encouraged. The collection is brimming with numerous denim alternatives, including sleeveless slim denim dresses with zippers running the length of the front from neck to hem; long denim skirts; jeans with side zippers, and mini-skirts and jeans with a D patchworked over the butt. Additionally, Diesel is dedicated to sustainability through using more responsible materials, low-impact finishing techniques, and a new circular project that upcycles denim production waste into brand-new textiles.
With bootcut black pants that are gray on the front and back, tab-fronted with press studs, and paired with a black front/gray back-fitted moto jacket, tailoring is also given a Diesel twist. Additionally, there are soft-cut bi-color coats and leggings to throw on over a zip-up track top, with a metallic D logo showing the flesh beneath, as well as tailored strappy dresses with zippers down the front.
White cargo pants skim the leg and have an ankle zipper, while black cargo bombers and pants are scaled up. Denim jeans and pants have a layer that looks as if it’s being peeled off, while double-layer hoodies and T-shirts are distressed to reveal the layer underneath. Metallic knit wrap skirts are fastened with a D buckle, whereas metallic knit vests have a D at the breast. On a yellow knit sweater and skirt, the Diesel monogram is printed in metallic gold; tops, and miniskirts are made of smocked denim knit; and acid cable knits are available in small vests or floor-length cardigans.
Maps of the world are long-sleeve T-shirts with graphic details, while a vision of the world from space is printed on slip dresses, padded hooded coats, and a kaftan cut with jersey sleeves. Additionally, there is an acid flowery print on skirts, kaftans, and a cropped, ultra-padded jacket. On the back of the black hoodies and tracksuit bottoms, a super-sized D is printed in white.
Don’t you just love a good belt? Diesel is certainly on the case, and they’ve been busy designing some truly stunning waistscapers. The label’s viral belt-skirt, a strip of leather that’s nearly impossible to sit down in, has been joined by several new contenders for best new waist accessory—and they’re not messing around.
For Pre-Fall 2023, creative director Glenn Martens wrapped models’ hips in chunky bands of metallic leather, extra-wide belts adorned with Diesel’s now-iconic “D” logo, of course. The belts are so shiny they look like armor from the future—or at least a very expensive accessory from an alternate dimension where fashion is different and everyone wears really heavy necklaces all the time.
The designer also introduced double-wrapped grommet belts, which further enhanced the waist’s emphasis. Martens’ continued focus on the waist is indicative of a wider industry trend, where designers are increasingly focusing on the waist to show off the curves of the female body.
Diesel’s classic B-1DR belt was also featured in the collection—a testament to Martens’ commitment to quality, and timeless style. Low-slung midi skirts paired with super low-slung skinny belts, and don’t think you just need to keep it one, layering belts is perfectly acceptable for the upcoming season.
